A fire sprinkler system is one of the most reliable ways to control a fire in its early stage. It works automatically, day and night, without anyone pressing a button, and in many buildings in India it is required by the National Building Code and the local fire authority for the fire NOC.

Cyber Group designs, supplies, installs, tests and maintains fire sprinkler systems for offices, hotels, hospitals, malls, warehouses, factories and residential towers across India, together with the fire hydrant system, fire pumps and fire alarm system.

Types of Fire Sprinkler Systems We Install

TypeHow it worksBest for
Wet pipePipes always full of water; heads open individuallyOffices, hotels, hospitals, malls, most factories
Dry pipePipes hold pressurised air; water enters when a head opensCold stores and areas where pipes may freeze
Pre-actionWater enters only after fire detection confirms a fireServer rooms, archives, museums
DelugeAll nozzles open; water flows from every nozzle on detectionTransformer yards, fuel and chemical storage

Key Parts of a Sprinkler System

  • Water source: an underground or overhead fire water tank of the required capacity.
  • Fire pumps: main electric pump, diesel standby pump and jockey pump to maintain pressure.
  • Installation control valve (alarm valve): controls water into the system and raises the alarm with a water motor gong.
  • Pipe network: risers, mains and branch pipes sized by hydraulic calculation.
  • Sprinkler heads: pendent, upright, sidewall or concealed types, with temperature ratings to suit each area.
  • Flow and tamper switches: report water flow and closed valves to the fire alarm panel and the BMS.
  • Test and drain valves: for regular testing.

Standards We Follow

Automatic sprinkler systems in India are designed with reference to IS 15105 and Part 4 (Fire and Life Safety) of the National Building Code 2016, along with the local fire authority. Some global clients and insurers also follow NFPA 13. The hazard class of each area decides sprinkler spacing, water density and the water storage needed.

Our Scope: Design to AMC

  1. Hazard study: light, ordinary or high hazard classification for every area.
  2. Design and drawings: hydraulic calculations, pump and tank sizing, pipe layout and drawings for fire NOC approval.
  3. Coordination: with false ceilings, HVAC ducts and lighting so heads are not blocked.
  4. Supply: certified products, compliant with RoHS, UL, CE, FCC and LPCB.
  5. Installation, testing and commissioning: pipework, heads, valves, pressure tests and flow tests.
  6. AMC: weekly pump runs, valve and gauge checks, periodic flow tests and 24×7 service support.

Sprinkler Projects

For Naxcure, our scope included the sprinkler system and fire hydrant, together with door interlocking and time attendance. Read our case study on turnkey fire safety at Ajmera KalyanOne, Mumbai.

Part of a Complete Fire Protection System

Sprinklers work best together with fire alarm and detection, hydrants and hose reels, extinguishers and, for special rooms, gas suppression. See our complete fire fighting systems and fire protection solutions.

Fire Sprinkler System: FAQs

How does a fire sprinkler system work?

Each sprinkler head opens on its own when the heat at that head reaches its rated temperature. Water flows onto the fire, and the flow switch and alarm valve raise the alarm and start the fire pump. In most fires only one or a few heads open.

Do all sprinklers go off at once?

No. In wet, dry and pre-action systems each head opens individually. Only deluge systems discharge from all nozzles together, and they are used for special high-hazard areas.

Which standard applies to sprinklers in India?

Automatic sprinkler systems are designed with reference to IS 15105 and Part 4 of the National Building Code 2016, along with local fire authority requirements. Some clients and insurers also ask for NFPA 13.

Will cigarette smoke set off a sprinkler?

No. Sprinkler heads react to heat, not smoke. They open only when the temperature at the head reaches its rating.

How often should a sprinkler system be tested?

Fire pumps are usually run weekly, valves and gauges are checked regularly, and full system checks are done at least once a year, as per your AMC and fire authority requirements.

Do you work outside Gujarat?

Yes. Our head office is in Ahmedabad and we deliver projects across India.
